Blue Los Angeles is a street photography series shot in Los Angeles in winter — the month when the city looks its best and its least performed. Santa Monica Pier in clear morning light. The Hollywood Hills from Griffith Park. A corner store in Franklin Hills. Circus of Books on Sunset Boulevard before it became a landmark rather than a shop.

The series is named for the particular quality of the light: cooler than the postcard version of LA, quieter, more honest. Shot by Klara Bäckström on a January visit that became a recurring one.
